It started with a moment of pure, unscripted surprise at a furniture trade show.
We were there to do what we’d always done, which was demonstrate our high-end 3D configurators. Our focus was on helping furniture companies sell more products. We built powerful, realistic, and functional software, and we were proud of the technology.
Then, something unexpected happened. The wife of one of our partners came over, not as a client or a tech evaluator, but just out of curiosity. She picked up the tablet.
But she didn’t just test the tool; she started to play. She didn’t place one sofa; she composed a scene with three. She added a rug, a coffee table, and spent a full minute arranging a collection of digital plants. The standard demo room we’d built a thousand times started to feel like a home.
After a few minutes, she turned to us, her eyes sparkling. “Oh my god, I love this!” she said. “This is so relaxing. Can you add more styles? What about different art for the walls?”
We were about to give our standard reply: “Ah, this is a sales tool to showcase specific products…”
But we stopped. Looking at her face, we realized she didn’t see a sales tool. She saw a way to be creative.
That single moment planted a seed: What if there was something else we could build but just didn’t see it yet?
The Pattern We Couldn’t Ignore
That one interaction could have been a fluke. But it wasn’t. Over the next few months, it happened again and again. Our business clients would do their due diligence, but their partners, friends, or colleagues from non-sales departments would get drawn to the screen.
They didn’t ask the standard questions about the configurator. Their focus was just on creativity.
- “Could I design my actual living room in this?”
- “I wish I could do this on my iPad. It’s so much more fun than just looking at pictures.”
They were finding a pocket of peace and creativity in the middle of a noisy convention hall. We had built a business solution, but people were using it for a moment of personal joy.
This was the lightbulb moment. We saw a pattern of behavior that we wanted to understand, so we started digging. We kept asking ourselves: where else do people get this same feeling of creative satisfaction? What other experiences make people light up the way our partner’s wife did that day? That’s when we fell headfirst into a universe we hadn’t considered before: the world of “cozy games” like The Sims, design-focused communities, and creative sandbox platforms.
We realized there were millions of people—design lovers and creative minds—who weren’t “hardcore gamers” but who loved games that allowed for self-expression, relaxation, and building.
The skills we had spent years honing to create smooth, intuitive, and beautiful 3D experiences were perfectly suited for this world, and we didn’t even know it before.
So, What Is Cozee?
That brings us to Cozee. It’s our answer to every one of those creative questions we were asked. It’s the product we realized we should have been building all along.
Cozee is a creative sanctuary built on a simple, powerful cycle: Create, Share, and Inspire.
1. Create Your Dream Space
It starts with a spark of inspiration. You’ll open the app to find a design challenge—a blank room waiting for you to bring it to life. Using simple drag-and-drop controls, you can pull in furniture from real-world brands you know and love, arrange decor, and experiment with styles, all with the creative freedom you could never have in your own home.
Think of the magic of Build Mode in The Sims; we’re capturing that specific feeling and making it the heart of our experience.
2. Share Your Vision & Get Feedback
Once you’re happy with your design, you don’t just save it—you share it with the Cozee community for feedback. But instead of just likes, you’ll get a “Vibe Score”—encouraging feedback that tells you what the community loves about your creation. Based on your score, you’ll earn rewards and unlock new items to grow your creative toolkit.
3. Inspire the Community by Building Your Own Challenges
And here is the heart of our vision: Cozee is a platform we build with you.
We quickly realized that the ultimate form of creativity isn’t just decorating a room we made—it’s building the room you’ve always imagined. That’s why we’re making community creation a core part of the experience from day one. With Cozee, you won’t just be a designer; you’ll be an architect. You can build your own unique challenges—from a cozy attic reading nook to a futuristic seaside villa—and publish them for your friends and the entire community to decorate.
This focus on co-creation is our answer to a problem we saw everywhere. For too long, this passionate community has been scattered—sharing inspiration on Pinterest, finding aesthetics on Instagram, and connecting in fragmented Facebook groups. These platforms were never built for designers at heart.
We are building the dedicated home this community deserves. A central hub to unite design lovers, a place with the right tools, the right people, and no limitations, so you can finally connect, create, and express yourself freely, together.
Why We Want to Share Everything We do
The idea for Cozee didn’t come from a closed room; it came from listening to a user. That lesson is burned into our DNA.
To build Cozee behind closed doors would be to ignore the very lesson that brought it to life.
That’s why we’re committing to building this entire product in public. We want to tear down the wall between developers and users. We’re not just looking for validation; we’re looking for co-creators.
Here is our promise:
- Total Transparency: We will share our journey—our progress, our challenges, our design mockups, and the reasoning behind our decisions.
- Constant Conversation: We will be active on Discord and social media, reading every comment. We want to hear your ideas, your feedback, and your vision for what Cozee can be.
- A Real Seat at the Table: Your voice will have a tangible impact on our product. Your ideas can fundamentally shape the foundation of what we’re building.
Whether you’re a future player who wants to shape the game or a brand that sees the potential in creative connection, we want to hear from you.
- For Future Players & Co-Creators: If you want to be among the first to play, give feedback, and help us build this from the ground up, the best place to start is our community. Your voice is loudest right now.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1164558562010174 - For Furniture Brands & Partners: If you are a company that wants to connect with a passionate design community and see your products featured in a beautiful, interactive world, we would love to start a conversation.
